Nice build! Can I ask you where you have connected your camera/vtx? Thanks!

italiangeis   Oct 02, 2017

I since modified the build with a polulu vreg that I pulled off the main batt input. I wired the cam and vtx to the regulator.

Perfect thanks! Does this little quad fly well on Raceflight? I have a Raceflight FC on a 4 inch build and it's fly pretty well

Yea, it's awesome. I'm flying an older build of RF1 (around 199 or so), but have been meaning to upgrade to the latest.

Where did you get the orange dampeners for the FC?

italiangeis   Apr 25, 2017

They came with the flight controller. I also ordered the Spark ESC board, which came with another set.

Bummer that the spark is so big and heavy. I wanted to use it and a milivolt in a Tomo quads predator x build.

Did you solder a dipole onto the TX03? Looks like that camera comes with a CP antenna.

That being said, one could certainly put a longer tail on the CP antenna and have it hang out the top. But I suspect it wouldn't last very long.

Whiffles   Apr 25, 2017

I've been using dipoles on my last few builds and they're great for my purposes. The reason I asked is because that TX03 doesn't appear to have a U.fl connector, so I wanted to know if you soldered the new antenna on.

italiangeis   Apr 25, 2017

Ah yes. I just desoldered the CF and then resoldered on the dipole.

where is the RX?

italiangeis   Apr 25, 2017

It's just tucked up into the pod. You can see the two antenna wires sticking out. It's a LemonRx.

any reason you didnt use the mini raceflight FC?

quadfather_fpv   Apr 24, 2017

O wait you did. any reason you didnt use the raceflight mini escs with that?

italiangeis   Apr 25, 2017

It's considerably larger than the Racerstar ESC board. I wanted to go as light as possible. It probably wouldn't have fit within the TPU cover.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
