Let the flow commence!

Can you link the Yi lens strap?

HolyCrapRC   Apr 14, 2016

I got the GoPro strap from Great3D, I had to use a sanding wheel on the dremel to widen the opening a little bit since the Yi lens is wider than the GoPro's but otherwise it works great. http://great3d.com/gopro-velcro-strap-camera-and-mount-not-included/

More crashing, and some park cruising!

Ouch, how did the red bottom handle the mud?

HolyCrapRC   Apr 01, 2016

They weren't too difficult to clean out, I didn't remove the bells but I rinsed them out a ton. It's been rainy the last couple days and I haven't had a chance to fly them yet. Hopefully I cleaned them out enough!

Nice setting, where is this?

HolyCrapRC   Mar 30, 2016

It's a little park in the southern suburbs of St. Paul MN

Whiffles   Mar 30, 2016

Excellent. I'm sure it'll look great in a few weeks.

Awesome, were your rates too high?

HolyCrapRC   Mar 09, 2016

They were actually a bit lower than I prefer just to be on the safe side for the maiden flight since I wasn't sure how stable the PIDs would be at speed. I had only hovered the quad for a minute or so before this to get the PIDs at a decent starting point. For this flight I was intentionally making some jerky moves to see if I could induce some oscillations.

Whiffles   Mar 09, 2016

Aha, so that was intentional. It did seem a little excessive on the jerkiness.

Nice touch using the black Yi, and those ESC wraps are quite unique. How do you like that frame?

Thanks! The frame was surprisingly nice for the price. The edges were in good shape and needed very little filing. They do cheap out on the hardware a bit but otherwise I totally recommend it.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
