My 4th Quadcopter.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The CX-20! That was my first hobby grade quad. I eventually replaced every single part and this is how it ended up.
Your F450 quad is impressive. Did you start with the APM2.5.2 of Cheerson CX-20 and upgraded to APM2.6? I got the open-source one and it's APM 2.5.2 with 3.1.2 firmware. I was thinking of upgrading the FC.
The original 2.5.2 was a little quirky so I replaced it with a 2.6 clone. Unless the original doesn't work there's really no need to upgrade. If anything you'd want to upgrade to Pixhawk, but that might be overkill for a CX-20.
So far so good. The flights are stable. But I was just thinking it might be easier to add mods to the newer FCs. Right now, I'm having problems sourcing a 3-pin Molex PicoBlade for the power module.
You could just direct solder it.
True! It is becoming to be easier to solder it than source a 3-Pin PicoBlade.
If you ever move on to mini quads you'll be soldering everything, so you might as well start now :)
