450mm size quad utilizing the DJI Naza Lite flight controller without GPS. This quad is just for slow, smooth acrobatics. You can't do fast low to the ground flips and rolls, unless you replace the flight controller with a Naze32 or similar flight controller. In addition to the parts listed here, you'll need some 3M black electrical tape, zip-ties, rubber bands, double sided foam tape, and velcro.

I've been thinking about converting my F450 to an FPV flier. Do you think it's worth the trouble? How do you like flying this versus something smaller?

Personally, I really like this thing. I have flown the smaller ones, and they definitely handle far better, and are faster, but this thing is just plain fun, and I get a lot longer flight times. Just switched to using LiHV (4.35 volts per cell) today, and with only a 1300mah battery, I was easily getting 5-7 minutes (with battery to spare), while the smaller mini quads were getting much less... 2-3 minutes (if they were lucky). Granted they can do a lot of tricks I can't, but that's only because of the flight controller I am currently running. Even with that, I can still do plenty of acro with this thing. When I switch this over to something like the Naze32, the only advantage they'll really have is tighter spaces, and a bit more speed.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
