Long story short, I crashed this https://rotorbuilds.com/build/8732 into a tree, couldn't find but recovered 2 weeks later, unfortunately 1 arm was broken and 1 motor exploded, didn't want to rebuild because it was a pig at almost 100 grams and the Emax 1106's seem like they would be much better matched to a 2.5" prop...

Was super excited when Massive Droner came out because it seemed to be the perfect answer - a strong, light, 2.5" frame with a great design!

So far I've been extremely pleased - the build was relatively straight-forward, albeit a bit fiddly to retain the back. Maiden flight was in extremely windy conditions, but despite this, I was really pleased with flight characteristics and thrust. Really looking forward to taking it to my usual spots in the coming weeks.

very nice! ive been thinking of swapping he parts from my babyhawk r 2.5 over to this frame. but i kinda wanna break the bhr frame first. so far a few trees anf a couple brick walls and nothing even scratched. only thing wrong with it is a broken camera lens ring lol.

Thanks for the compliments. If I'm honest, I love the way the Massive D flies but it is a bit fragile - I've already broken half a dozen components (mostly roll bars and the front brace) which gets pretty expensive with shipping. When I break it again, I'm actually planning to transplant the guts into a Diatone GT M2.5 frame due to the aluminum roll bar which has proven to be a pretty robust design in my GEPRC Sparrow 3" (which I've crashed about a million times, many of them pretty hard).

yeah the sparrow is one tough frame. ive had mine for almost a year and its been thru hell and still going. 100% throttle into a brick wall and only broke props lol.

Hey nice build! What batteries are you using with this?

GNB 550 3S, maiden flight was really windy but I got about 3:00 when flying "reasonably" and maybe 2:30 when hammering it a bit more

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
