This is my awesome freestyle trainer.
The basic idea was to create a small, yet powerfull quad that I am able to fly after work. I wanted to be able to fly without a spotter and still be legal but didn't want to sacrifice any range or features that the bigger brothers have.

But the best part is that I can save my flight footage in 1080/60 due to the split mini 2. The downside of this setup is that you can see the props in the picture.

It's not anywhere near GoPro footage but for what it is, in my opinion it's really good. The complete weight is 237,5g (AUW) including the battery and therefor well within the legal boundries.

The 20mm standoffs that came with the frame had to be replaced with 25mm spacers to be able to get just enough space for the board of the split mini 2.
I can change channels and bands via Tramp telemetry and have full camera control. In theory even FrSky telemetry should word via F-Port, but I had issued with that in another build so I postponed that on my tooth fairy.

The average flight time is about 3-4 minutes with 650 mAh Tattus. As the voltage sag of these small batterys is not to be underestimted I added the xt30 current sensor from hglrc. Yes, I added a lot of weight with that...but for me it is defenetly worth it in order not to overdischarge the batterys to often.

For the Antenna mounting I have come to appreciate the TPU Antenna mounts not only for the receiver but also for the fpv antenna.

If you want to rebuild my setup please leave me a comment letting me know, that I could inspire you and share your experiance & perhaps any improvements you made.

I like your quadimoto v2! What's the AUW?

weight has gone up since the previous version :-(

without battery i'm now at 198g, what means with my typical 4s 650mAh packs I'm at 264g. If I still want to stay below 250, I'll have to resort to 3s 550mAh packs.

Those are totally ok and actually a nice size, but 4s feels that tiny bit better...

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
