AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

Why go brushed when you can do a ZMR180 for about the same price?
Because I can fly it inside in the winter and in my back yard without having to go out to a park or something.
Ahh, less damage if you hit something ;)
Yeah, it's a long winter with no FPV -- is it expensive? Sure.....but I think I'll get good use out of it in the winter as well as the summer if I just want to fly off the deck in the back yard.
Well I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product. It'll be a nice change from all the ZMR250's I've been seeing.
Not knocking tch's project here at all (I been wanting to do one of these brushed micros proper like this for a while) but you could roll a similar quad about $50 less with standard can motors and a nano qx board.
Yeah, I've been wondering how much better these high end micro parts are to the cheap eBay alternatives.
@36Ophiuch -- the reason I'm going for beefs is that I can use my Taranis...I'll take a look at price diff for motors, not married to them, thought they might help with the FPV gear though.
