40mm micro brushless toothpick

I am building this quad from whats left of my emax tinyhawk 2. the camera... :)
this will hopefuly be a very fun litle micro brushless but first I have to build it.

For the fc I bought a diatone F411 toothpick board. I decided to go with the microheli carbon frame but it is not designed for a 26x26 fc. from what I can tell there are holes that are allready drilled in the frame that shold enable me to flip the mounting post upside down and mount it that way. the runcam nano 2 has very impresive video quality (for its size) so I kept that since I already had it. I ordered some 1102 13500kv motors from beta fpv that should not overheat as much as the stock ones did. I will switch to gemfan 3 bladed 40mm props with the new motors. the xm plus reciver seems to be the most popular frsky full range reciver and its very light. I'd assume the smaller xm reciver would also do the trick on such a small build. Tbs has some great video transmiters for micros and they are extremely small. I went with the unify pro nano because it is power switchable from 25-50 mw. That is fine for small park flyers but if you want to get a litle bit more range then I would get the unify pro32 nano. Any micro rhcp (right hand circular polarized) antenna will do fine in this build but I decided to get the foxxer micro lolipop since foxxer is a well known brand. Again its mosly personal prefrence. I think that the amass XT30 is THE BEST connector for 2-4s micros. if you are running only 1s then a ph2.0 or bt2.0 is perfectly fine. I have a bunch of XT30 2s batteries so I am using the XT30.

I think it is always a good idea to draw a plan before you start soldering. You can always find information online.

I will be posting my build video soon.

It took me a while to figure uout how to mount the vtx and reciever but in the end I put the reciever under the flight controller with the antennas out the back. The vtx fit on top with the antenna going out the top. I might change this later.

this is my build video

I am finding the 50mw vtx limiting in range so I am going to upgrade to the tbs unify pro32 nano. This goes up to 500mw!!

I mounted the unify pro32 nano on the back of the camera with a shortened antenna. this should keep the antenna verticle when I am flying forward.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
