Looking at a clean 3 inch build where I won't have to worry about fitting things under a pod.

I finally got this build to fly today. I have 3041 RK Quads on it because these 1306 are so low KV. It takes about 1/2 throttle to take off and 3/4 to remain airborne. Its pretty nimble but not fast at all. Adding a Matecam 808 was too much weight. IMO its a pretty heavy frame and the motors don't chooch.

I got rid of the full size cam and replaced with a Runcam Micro knockoff. The cam works well and lightened up the front end. Flight power and control seems to have improved as well. I have it held in with 3 zip ties around an actual Runcam micro mount.

I put this quad on a significant diet. It went from 186g to 152g dry. Changes included a smaller 5v step down, smaller RX FS82, DYS props, VTX03, removed the battery sled, and UXii antenna instead of dipole.

This build was having terrible interference issues after being rebuilt. I discovered the Step Down I selected wasn't strong enough to power my FC/RX/VTX all at once. My VTX03 died. I had to replace it with a much heavier Foxeer 25mw that runs on Lipo power. This VTX has an SMA pigtail so I had to go Pagoda for the antenna. The picture is a lot clearer and it once again flies but still a bit of interference in the feed. The bootleg camera I have in it is fighting it's demons. It will randomly fill my screen with strange Chinese and English characters like the Matrix. A couple finger taps on the sensor fixed it.

06/12/18 - Quad given to Cleaner.PMR so he has something that is RTF. Yay

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
