Building an Acro capable FPV Q100 for less than $49.99 (Amazon ARF price) + Receiver

This rig was flying amazingly well in my backyard except the plastic feet kept falling out of the quad. I tried hot gluing them in place but I think that was a mistake. The hot glue may have entered the motors and caused them to bind. When the motors heat up the glue melts and it's an endless cycle of frustration. The flight controller may also be bad on the motor 1 and 2 side. I'm having a great deal of difficulty with it spinning ANY motors I solder in. When I plug these motors direct to lipo they spin 100%.

This is back in the air and flying with Ibus. Quad given away as part of a PMR care package.

How well does this fly?

FissionBomb   Jan 26, 2018

Hi @Gingertop It flies OKAY. I personally don't think that it is a legitimate hobby grade flyer. It's still a toy, however it's a toy that can do all the moves and flight of a full sized brushless. Recovery from rolls is not good. Flips are a little better. If you need something cheap for the backyard and non-windy days this is for you. It is super fun to fly through soccer goal style gates and around pool noodles. Beyond that please don't expect much more from this little guy.

Do your props clear the frame?

Hi there! Yes, these props clear the frame and fly a lot better than the Hubsan props. The blade actually rotates above the hood.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
