Leopard LX5 build with mostly high-end components. Here's my justification!

The DYS F4 Pro V2 will allow me to make the stack just a single board, placing ESCs of my choice on the arms. I have always liked the look of this one and it will suit well with the power wires coming out the back.

The motors are growing older with many new options on the market, but the DYS SE2205 PRO are still great performers. I like the solder tabs they have instead of wires as you can select your own wire size/length, more easily solder it to the ESC and easily replace a motor without removing ESC mounting tape/ties. I was also able to grab a couple of sets of these motors for a very cheap locally, so they became an obvious choice. The two-pack includes one CW and one CCW motor/nut, as well as mounting hardware and 20 AWG wires for each. As with other DYS motors, a prop nut wrench is included.

I was originally going to use DYS XSD30A V2 ESCs, but this assumed I was buying the motors from a particular shop. Due to issues with the shop and another shop clearing out the motors at a much better price, I had to change my decision. I went with the Spedix IS 30A speed controllers as they seem to be a reliable option which is optimized for 4S operation. They also sell the HV 3-6S series, but that adds more size and drops a few pieces for features I won't be using (high-voltage operation). These things are tiny! It will go together very easily with these on the arms connected straight to the DYS F4 for power, flight control and current draw monitoring all-in-one.

The VTX03 is great not only for its size (to throw on top of the stack) but also its ability to be powered from a 5V supply. This will allow me to run all the components from the 5V regulator on the DYS F4 board, removing the need for extra regulators which a larger VTX would require. It can provide between 25 and 200 mW of power, which is perfect for my needs. I will run the included whip antenna until I can get an adequate U.FL to RP-SMA cable.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
