Big QAV Clone to go with my baby one
01/27/18 - I have the FC, Props, VTX, and Receiver already.
03/01/18 - Antenna, ESC, Props, and Frame acquired. Just need motors.
03/03/18 - I unexpectedly sold my only other Freestyle top mount rig so this build got a motor upgrade and color change. Rocking the red once again. The frame carbon is surprisingly thick. The edges aren't the cleanest but a little superglue should clean them up nice.
03/13/18 - I installed the ESC, Capacitor, and motors and soldered on the Polou. I soldered the ESC signal wires in and provided 5v to the board. I plugged in a 3S battery to test the power and I got ESC tones and the FC powered up. I tried a 4S and the board flashed and turned off with no ESC tones. I was dumbfounded. Why would it work on 3S but not 4S? After some research I found the Pololu I chose is only rated to 3S. I'm so dumb. I put this build on pause until I figure out a new 5v BEC option.
03/22/18 - I stole a 5v BEC from my 3 inch build and used the Pololu from this build on the 3 inch. This made both builds happier as I can now use this quad on 4S and the 3 inch lost substantial weight. I also upgraded the RX in this build to the X6B for diversity and range sake. I'm running the camera off lipo and have the VTX03 routed to the FC for power. Red LEDs on the bottom rear arms help keep the quad in sight. The build turned out pretty clean and I'm very happy with the maiden.

How do you like this frame? Seems like a steal for 16 bones with Prime shipping.
This is a great frame for a beginning builder. There's plenty of room inside to build a stack and add VTX/RX. The carbon plates hold an HS1177 sized camera well. The bottom monoplate is extremely thick and should take some hits. The top plate is questionable but so far so good. I wish there was a grommet for the battery cable but my hot glue fix will have to do.
