This is my first attempt at including an HD action camera on a quad. I have went with the Hawkeye Firefly 2 due to the low price and weight.

The quad flies great, if a little slower than expected due to the extra weight of the camera. Maiden flight footage has been uploaded to YouTube:

To further reduce weight, the battery in the Firefly 2 has been removed - the camera is powered from the main lipo battery, using a small buck converter to drop the 4S voltage down to ~3.9V (the camera did not function correctly when powered from either the 3.3V or 5V pads on the flight controller).

Attempted to partially soft-mount the motors by using 3 layers of electrical tape around the frame where the motors are screwed in - unsure if this actually helps reduce vibrations or not but thought I'd give it a go anyway.

Using a few 3D printed parts found on Thingiverse to keep the build as tidy as possible, making full use of both stacks provided in the Gecko frame.

It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
