Introduction

Taking a bushed whoop to the limit has been an adventure.

While everyone is mostly going with stock setting they receive from BNF builds, I like to modify until nothing else can be done.

Goal and Parts Selection

The goal of this freestyle/ Angle build is to make a reliable 1s Brushed powered rig that is high kV in power, descent flight time and has excellent flight characteristics. With the requirements listed I also wanted to increase my flight distance for better penetration through obstructions.

NewBeeDrone is not keeping up with updates on the Mockingbird, thus anyone who buys the kit is only able to use the Gold motors and gemfan 4-blade props with Betaflight 3.5.7 and Mockingbird V3 settings. Project Mockingbird has gone through the Mocking bird sever times to make it better. NewBeeDrone has recently upgraded their Beebrain-Lite board from Vers: d to Vers: E. These upgrades and update make it the perfect time to show off what a brushed micro drone can do.

Results

With a near stock weight, heaps of high revving power, crystal clear FPV feed, Betaflight 4.0.6 firmware, and Project Mockingbird V4 settings for expert Acro mode and full race Angle modes this micro freestyle quad is incredibly smooth and responsive. The build is feels locked in and predictable from my initial flights as a newbie. The Mockingbird is able to scream now and handle many moves most thought impossible by a brushed micro drone.

Future
Do an update to Betaflight 4.1.0 and possibly Unicorn 6x17mm motors
