I've set out to build a long range HD quad that can handle the wind where I fly. I wanted to give Chriss Rosser's frame and tuning a try, so I got the AOS 7 Evo frame cut by CNC Drones, here in Canada. They are in my neighbouring province so this frame arrived very quickly! But first snag - this frame kit does not come with any TPU prints and I don't own a 3D printer.
The motors I chose based on one of Chris Rosser's YouTube videos - T-Motor F90 2806.5.
On my micro long range build, I used a Diatone micro stack and really liked it. So, I went with a full sized Diatone stack for this one too.
Going with TrueRC (another Canadian company) for the antennas because they always gave me the best picture with my old analog quads. Since these are LHCP, I also got a pair of TrueRC LHCP antennas for the Goggles 2 to replace the linear antennae. I would like to mount the antennae to the top plate, but I can already see a problem with wider battery fitment. My 6s2p 18650 will not fit with the way the cells are arranged. I may be able to bottom mount it though. For initial flights, I will probably use 2x Auline 6S 18650 packs with a Y cable.
Update: I'm switching the TrueRC Singularity to TrueRC Matchstick, and adding a 2.4ghz Bardpole. I got some TPU on Amazon and gave it to my friend who found a free used 3D printer. We're looking at thingiverse for useful prints.
