I bought this frame on DiegoFPV's recommendation. It's cheap enough and a good top mount style.
8/1/17 After building on this frame I have determined it's tough as nails and very heavy. I burned up both FPV cameras I had thought about using for it so right now it's a LOS quad only.
I got a deal on an FPV cam so I installed an HS1177 clone and VTX. FPV is GO!
This build is riddled with Gremlins. I was having power issues and I thought maybe my ESC wasn't getting enough power because I had soldered to a PDB pad instead of right to the lipo pigtail. My motors were not spinning in sync with each other.
I soldered direct to the pigtail and it still had the same issues. I attempted to flash the newest ESC Firmware 16.6 and I played with my board orientation again. This fixed things temporarily and with a fully charged battery I was able to take off and hover.
The quad came down and began to do the same motor sync issues. I've now taken the quad apart and tried to reflash Betaflight. The FC is no longer recognized when plugged in and when I try to short the boot pins or get into bootloader I get a Bootloader Failed message at the bottom of Betaflight. The FC only has a blue LED and no longer has a Red LED under any situation. I believe it to be dead. A new F4 replacement is on the way.
8/8/17 I installed the F4 replacement board, got everything wired up, went to go bind and reconnect to Betaflight and the USB is dead. The board powers up under lipo power but I have no way to tune any of the settings. Very sad.
I ordered an Asgard All in One FC, ESC, PDB. This should resolve my gremlin issues.
08/12/17 One of the stupid capacitors on my Asgard fell off. It's the one closest to motor 2. The board still powers up and connects to Betaflight but I doubt it's functionality without that cap. I attempted to flux and rework it in place but only succeeded in burning things and making a mess. I've unsoldered the motors from the ESC pads and currently have nothing attached to the frame except the motors.
09/19/17 I've obtained an F4 Revo flight controller and a 4 in 1 ESC. Going to go this route as it has worked in the past for my Space One build. I had to use the camera on my new Garuda build so this build is now missing a cam.
09/22/17 The F4 and 4 in 1 combo is working! I was able to take flight after everything was soldered together but still getting a intermittent motor issue on motor 1 only. I took everything apart and resoldered the wire extensions on that motor and still got the same result. I took one last crack at loosening the motor screws as perhaps they were touching the coils and causing a problem. That worked and all 4 motors idled at full power.
11/06/17 I got an FPV cam and put it on the quad for an FPV flight. I took it out at night and flew in a parking lot for the first time. The flight was so locked in and felt so good. The next day I started getting the same issue on Motor 1 and getting a motor reset tone from the ESC. Strangely, the motor will spin up fully when the prop is removed and under PWM in the Betaflight motors tab. I'm going to try and swap motors 1 and 4 to see if I can recreate the issue on motor 4 or if it's the ESC AGAIN.
03/05/18 This quad is finally flying well and I've decided to sell it to help a guy who lost his rig in a body of water.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

Good luck with the Asgard...Keep us posted with the outcome.
