4" Tank build

This is my quad that I learned to crash on, and I've spent lots of time tinkering and soldering.

It started out as a rebranded Emax Nighthawk - JJPRO P175. As I crashed and broke items I replaced them with new parts. The motors and ESCs are still original so I think I got my $109 bucks worth over the last year.

  • After the very first crash I got new props.
  • The original receiver had terrible range and at one point I was flying it with a micro rx in the old frame.
  • Next upgrade was the camera
  • Burned out an ESC and replaced it with the same. I also bought a spare motor that I've never had to swap in yet.
  • Next major crash broke the XT60 off and I thought it was going to require a new PDB so I ordered what I thought was a 5" frame, but I ordered the 4" arms. I was able to fix the PDB so the frame hung on the wall for a few months as I crashed some more.
  • Then the Naze32 usb connector died. I bought the Matek F405 AIO and moved everything into the new frame. I also used a de-cased ia6b receiver in the new build. with the extra room.

It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
