"Claire" is the working title I've given to the 500-Class airframe I designed over my last break. She's built to carry full a FPV kit as well as a number of auxiliary systems including multiple microcontrollers. She can hold a microcontroller or two 30.5mm boards, one 45mm board, and a receiver and FPV transmitter the vibration-dampened upper electronics bay. An additional microcontroller and 45mm board can be carried in the internal bay. Mounts on the underside can accommodate Tarot 60mm rail mounts and DJI Phantom gimbals. The forward mount is built for a GoPro but any standard FPV board camera can also be mounted. Landing gear is salvaged from a downed Phantom 2 (Check if it's yours here: http://imgur.com/MZOZIdd).

She's coupled with a FrSky Taranis+ transmitter and a Quanum V2 headset.

Flight performance is adequate.

Now that is a cool design. It reminds me of the Parrot Bebop in how you've got the electronics dampened. How well does it work and where are the parts?

I haven't done a test flight yet due to the snow and lack of sunlight, but I'll know within a few days. The parts are coming, I just wasn't able to list them at the time.

Get a test flight in yet? Would love to see a 3rd person flight of this thing.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
