This is a new frame design by me, Secret Agent, made for 3" props and laid out to be a builders dream. With both 30.5x30.5 and 20x20 mounting holes, large build deck, and either a top or bottom mount battery you can jam all sorts of different configurations into it. The rear arms are built into the topplate (which, like the bottomplate is 3mm) and allow for top or bottom mounting of the motors.

This design came out of a need I had to make a cheap simple 3" without some of the flaws I found in many >$50 frames on the market. I started with a drawing, and with the support of online friends and drone pilots was able to start design quite quickly in Fusion 360. I painstaking went over each concept and refined until I reach this point, which is on of 14 frames I have had made to test the concept.

Once I had printed out a few non-flyable prototypes I quoted the carbon fiber cutting with a couple groups and settle on "Spider Plastics" which is a US based cnc and 3D printing service. After excellent communication from them, they help determine that this frame laid out on a sheet of carbon fiber best with 14 top and bottom plates and once I delivered the final files to them I had my plates within a week. It was extremely exciting.

Alt TagThis particular quad is the first frame built from that batch and is an experiment in it's handling. I used electronics I have in in other 3" drones to be able to compare the frames performance. I will be building more using the different motor and battery configurations.Alt Tag

The total cost to build this quad, frame included, was less than $140.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
