Here’s my entry into the ever-growing list of CL1s here on RotorBuilds. I bought this frame back in August and I’m sorry I didn’t build it sooner. For propulsion, I picked up some gently used XHover 2307 2500kv motors. They fly super smooth and have more than enough power. I experimented a bit with props on this build and although the pictures show DAL 5046s, I’m now running HQ 5x4.3x3s. They slowed the quad down a lot and really changed the flight characteristics for the better. My batteries are also a lot happier and I enjoy the longer flight times. The flight controller is loaded up with Betaflight 3.5.2 and it only took some minor tweaks to get it flying very locked in. Video from the new RDQ Mach 3 is excellent and I’m really loving the RunCam Micro Eagle. It might be my new camera of choice. Brain3D provided all the TPU goodies and the height of the build was dropped down to 25mm. Even though I’m a little late, I’m glad I jumped on board the CL1 hypetrain. Choo choo!
Update – Now that I’ve been flying this frame for about a month and I’ve gotten it dialed in, I’m loving it. If you’ve been looking for an inexpensive frame to build with the extra parts you’ve got laying around, this is the frame to build.
auw??
It's a pig. Just under 700g with a 4s 1500 mah battery and GoPro Session.
