FPVCycle Babytooth, DiamondF4 FR AIO, FPVCycle Light 13mm 1S-2S Motor

I had to abandon the first build attempt as i had a smoke issue with the first DiamondF4 FR i received, I contacted Newbeedrone, and they suggested i contact happymodel directly, which i did, they asked me to return it and they will send a replacement. Just before they sent the replacement they sent me a test flight with the flight controller they were sending me so i was assured there was going to be no issue with it, so it arrived with the motor pads pre-tinned.

Once it arrived instead of removing the PH2.0 lead as i did before i just cut the connector off and soldered on an extended XT30. I may as well just add the pictures i took when i was first building with the original fc (which are pics 2 to 9), I didnt see the point taking indvidual pictures of the steps as once the motors are soldered you just have to connect the camera and your done (i have loads of these premade leads already but they are very long so i just made one from the supplied diamondf4 fc box and caddx ant nano box), and obviously assuming you also change to XT30, Thats all you have to do, its an extremely quick build.
The last step is to just adjust betaflight settings as this flight controller is mounted upside down and backward.

I was expecting this to be a good bit lighter but i overestimated the mass of the xm+, pandarc nano vtx, fpvcycle aio fc, crux3 canopy and caddx ant nano since this comes in at 40.7g (Pictured below) as opposed to the 44.8g of my previous build (Also Pictured below). Still 4.1 grams lighter is not nothing for something thats already pretty light, Thats 10% lighter.

Below i pasted the required Betaflight Settings, I flashed it with the latest 4.2.9. I also added a screenshot of the configuration page, you'll notice the Yaw Degrees is set to 90, Gyro alignment needs to be CW 0 flip. The cli settings below shows this along with the required motor remapping (this can be pasted directly without having to remove the previous motor mapping). I am running reverse props and My RSSI was reading low so i set the scale to 120. Also the required VTX Table (This is basically the downloadable from happymodels website for the mobula6 etc. but i have set only 2 power levels; 25 & 200mW as this board is only capable of those 2)

Required Betaflight Settings (v4.2.9)

set align_board_yaw = 90
set gyro_1_sensor_align = CW0FLIP
set gyro_1_align_pitch = 1800
set yaw_motors_reversed = ON
set rssi_scale = 120

First flight sucked: Having issues with vtx and smart audio. VTX drops out and i cant set frequency and power as smart audio doesnt work. And noisy video on a 1S build

Awesome. I'm curious about the durability of the FC/ESCs.

Me too, already having issues with vtx and smart audio. smart audio wont work, so i cant set the frequency and power. also the video drops out randomly anywhere between 30 seconds to 2 minutes

I really struggled with SmartAudio on one of these DiamondF4 FRs. I finally got it working by updating Betaflight to 4.2, loading the VTX table and setting UART2 to TBS SmartAudio. I'd got stuck only trying UART1, which was wrong.

Hi, is the 5A esc output of that FC enough to sustain the motor current draw? I want to build an ultralight like you too but im concerned about the low esc output bottlenecking the motors.

I had no issues on these 13's anyway. I dont think they pull more than 5 Amps and considering the 1S batteries available for these builds you wont spend much time at high throttle anyway. the lipos are the real issues with these builds

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
