Many FPV pilots who are in hobby for few years already and have a habit to build their gear from scratch, usually have a stash of their old builds and random parts. Some older builds are kinda Ok or even great, hower they lack something decent to be awesome again. I had one freestyle quad like this: 4 years old with GEP-LX5 frame, 4S motors and smoked flight controller. Frame itself still rocks. Although it have quite tight space inside - enough only for single two board stack. Decided to repurpose it for 6S batteries and install Vista HD kit to have clear view and ghost branches visible. Why not?

For 6S conversion purchased Mamba F405 MK2 stack with 4in1 ESC. And T-Motor PACER P2207 V2 1750KV motors.

Vista VTX brick is too high to put it into LX5 frame without modification. Luckily M3 spacers are particularly well available. Decide to lift frame ribs 10 mm higher. That required four M3x16mm screws and four M3x10mm spacers without thread inside.

TBS Nano receiver and Vista VTX are glued to 30.5mm stack cover board, borrowed from unused Matek FC. Didn't used 3D printed adapter though because Vista VTX during operation become very hot. Thus board must be made from heat resistant dielectric material. Vista stock antenna is too long to conveniently install in this frame. Used 8 cm long Caddx Vista antenna instead.

LX5 frame normally support only old style 25 mm FPV cameras. However I found that if ribs and camera mount plates are swapped, they make approximately 19 mm horizontal space between ribs. Ribs was swapped and DJI camera - bolted through decorative openings. It fits in here just fine now. Glued alarm buzzer to one of mount plates with 2-sided tape.

Final build rips fine :) No good frame left unused.
