This was a tough build, lots of tiny screws in tiny holes with tiny solder joints...and it flies! Had problems with the first FC I had chosen for this so I ended up having to use the FuriousFPV Racewhoop which doesn't have an OSD. The first no-name FC that I got was defective, it would disconnect on USB and start burning when the ESC was plugged in. I suspected the ESC so I returned it and tried again. This time everything worked great...for a little while. Had the FC updated and all configured, motors all tested and rotating right, RX bound and modes setup. Then when I plugged in fresh batteries for my first hover poof, the magic smoke came out. I abandoned that FC, kept the ESC and got the new Racewhoop. It worked first time. Updated to BF 3.2.4, updated the ESC firmware, everything works great now. I'll update once I test some more. Not sure if I would recommend some of these parts, I'll let you know.

Very nice! How have the aluminum ducts held up?

Just fine so far. It doesn't get as much indoor flight time as my brushed whoop but so far I haven't had any issues with it.

Why the parallel battery configuration? It's bound to be heavier than a single battery of the aggregate capacity.

Actually no. An equivalent 2s battery weighs more than the two 1s combined. For instance, a Venom 250mah 2s is 16g and the batteries I am using (equivalent to 260mah 2s) is 12g.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
