I really hope you had a defective ESC, because I'm putting together a 6s 6" with those motors... Was hoping to use 35A ESCs I have laying around, and just cap them all @ 470uF, plus a 1000uF on the power lead. What size capacitors did you use?
Maybe inadequate air flow since the motors are designed to cruise @~60 mph?
1000uF x4 for each ESCs. I think it is almost overkill..
It was not a heat issue, these motors stay cool all the time. It felt pretty good.
I started to really like this quad... and a crash and a magic smoke lol..
Very very high quality motor, just a very very bad crash.
Aaaah sorry to hear, but that's a relief for me! When I see the word "fried" I tend to assume heat or current as the sources of the component failure. I can't wait until mine get here. Silverdrone shipping speed is somewhere between glacial and turtles in peanut butter.
Yeah you will be pleased. Really liked the prop-holding teeth as well, that thing really bites.
I think shaft bent at the crash and that giant esc threw massive current to spin it right before disarm.
