new build.. this time 210mm stretched X with seperate arms this time for a bit more durability for race use its also 20x20 only and i may do a canopy for it at some point. needs some tweaks on the drawings where the arms meet, e.g. 0.05mm removed from the connecting faces. got the 'dino' stack in my other 5" and its rock solid so its the natural choice for such a light weight build, the gps is purely for speed measurement and has worked well on the other build i have been testing it on. hoping for some big speed on this guy but will have to see how she flys. the arms are cut with the carbon grain and held in with a single pressnut and ti bolt on each arm and keys joining the arms in the middle. the FC bolts pass through bottom plate and the arms hopefully isolating the motor noise from the stack a little.
weight no props 178.1g
dry weight 193.6g
AWU with 850mAh pack 299.8g
It's taken a while to get the tune right but with a little Betaflight 3.4.0 magic and some pid tuning it's certainly getting close. Next step is optimisation of the serial gyro and dterm filters
Nice job.
How do you like the gps?
So far it's good not much use in flight and if you want good speed readings then you have to keep the g's under 4g but when extracted from the black box and run through a tracker it is interesting stuff. I'd like to see the black box viewer be able to read the GPS data. Maybe I'll put a feather request through on GitHub
How much does the frame weight standalone?
