The Kabab 1s 3" Toothpick is still my favorite micro format. I've built many of them with different configurations to include 1s, 2s, and 3s. So it was only appropriate that I build a HDzero version with the new HDzero AIO and Lux camera. I used my go-to toothpick frame that Faebu FPV created and had CNC Madness in Canada cut the frame. It's 2mm with chamfered edges and has a great 3D printed battery holder and canopy that Faebu FPV also designed. It's still a work in progress as we're still trying ot figure out how to accomodate the vtx antenna.
This build uses RCinpower 1202/ 11500kv motors and is a great backyard acro flyer. It's so light it can crash with needing a rebuild and if you fly over grass, it almost never needs repair.
My first choice in digital is DJI Air units however I've always had a weight limition to build a 1s digital. The HDzero AIO is fantastic and makes for a super clean build. The image quality is great compared to analog (and yep, I still fly lots of analog rigs).
Power to weight is amazing and you can fly it anywhere because it's super quiet. Hit me up wth quesitons!

Hello, very nice build. I also love 1s 3" platform and I was flying analog version for a long time but only when hdzero released AIO I build babytooth with one instantly. Now it is even better! Do you mind sharing tune? I am not the best at this and I am using one that is quite nice but maybe yours is better. Canopy also looks great, if it is not a problem I would like to try it too :D
And here's the canopy .stl

i have all of these exact same parts for this build but i was worried about the escs not being able to handle the motors. How is yours doing? i bought a beta fpv 1s 12 amp aio and i was thinking id run it and the eco vtx with the lux cam at a pretty big weoght penalty. but if this is holding up for you id much rather just use the AIO 5.
No issue with the ESCs. I now have two of these same setups and have flown 50+ flights pushing them hard. As noted in my comments, I've built many of these Babytooths with the same configurations. I have a few that I've flown many hundreds (maybe thousands) of flights with the 1s 5amp ESCs and they are fine. I've personally never blown an esc on this setup.
Man, that is a stunning build man. Extremely clean, lightweight, and overall an insane leap in technology the more I think about it. Like, just a few years we never even considered digital systems for FPV. Few years later, 5in drones are slowly transitioning to digital and we have a few options for digital....and another 2 years later, even whoops can be digital in reasonable weights.
also side note, Faebu FPV did a great job with that frame.
Thanks so much! And you are so right. It was a pipe dream only a few years ago. I cant wait to see what a fee more years will bring.
Faebu FPV is a great designer, pilot, and friend in Switzerland. I have probably built 20 1s toothpicks on this frame. He also designed the printed battery mount on the bottom of the frame.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..
Read moreWith the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
