Long Range Duke

One of my favorite quads build for long range. Frame is from Rotor Village, called "The Duke". Most of my quads are 5" or down, this is the only 6" one I have built. All 3D parts are custom designed and printed by me. In this last modification, I wanted something that I could mount the Immortal T to and see if it out performs the custom antenna.
Parts list is below.
Was a very satisfying build as everything was a perfect fit.
Primary reason behind this build was for low amp use, potentially using Li Ion batteries to help extend the range.
Currently have been out to 4KM with no difficulty and available mAh is all that prevents me from going further.
Been flying on a 4S-3200 mAh battery and getting a solid 10-12 minutes.
Just tried out a home built 5S Li Ion built using Sony VCC6 3000 mAh cells with a 15A constant and 30A burst. Got 15 minutes before I landed so will be experimenting with that.

Hello all right, would you have any tutorial for assembly? What range of it and which receiver and radio uses together, sorry several questions, do not understand much of drone DIY, my last was a phanton, I am wanting to venture out now, thank you very much

How does a guy get ahold of those awesome .stl's you designed for this rig? I have the 7" version but i beleive the cage is the same and those prints would save me some serious design time. Beautiful craft either way man!

i can easily send them to you. appreciate the comments.

Looks amazing. Got a flight video? Range and MPH? Any good crashes? lol. When I show you one flying, I'll show you one crashing unless it's a very special day.

This doesn't crash. Long range, higher altitude flight, not a basher or crasher with this one. That is reserved for all the other ones. Have had it up to 100 KPH but usually fly around 60 KPH or 36 MPH to keep the amp draw down. Been out to 4KM and back with power left in the tank, reaching out 1 KM at a time.

This is a nice build, I like your printed parts, adds a nice touch! I'm looking to build something very similiar and I'm also in Canada so parts are limited here without paying a fortune! Curious how come you went with the TBS Crossfire TX over the TBS Crossfire Micro TX? The micro is half the price, or did you just happen to have this from a previous build? Cusrious on how you are using the GPS as well?

Went with the crossfire because of the possible power output. 2 Watts vs 250 mW. There is good deals on them now without the bluetooth if that was something you wanted. Suggest staying with the larger one as long range is addicting. If you get some parts that need printing I am sure we can arrange something. GPS is used for home arrow, for tracking speed, and for using Rescue Mode in Betaflight.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
