This is a frame replacement for the Rakonheli 2S Delrin Carbon 76mm Brushless Whoop BNF-DSM2 DSMX. It's a nice brushless 2s whoop. The ducts were a getting beat up though.

I wanted to remove the ducts and replace with a handmade squished X carbon fiber frame.

It's terrible workmanship on the frame but it flies fine. Reduced the weight by about 5grams. Had to adjust Super Rate pitch down three clicks due to the shorter pitch rotation on a squished X. Drilling the holes for the motors was not pretty... went through 2 tiny drill bits. But that's not the drill bits fault, rather my poor drilling technique.

I first cut out the X shape, drilled holes and fit everything together. The area around the motor mount holes had to be sanded down to 1mm for the screw to fits. Then I disassembled it all and started reducing weight off the frame by trimming here and there. I may have gone too far, 50% reduction. We'll see.

One thing is for sure, I spent WAY TOO MUCH on the carbon fiber only to use 4 grams. Still, I can use what's left over for something else.

FYI, working with carbon fiber is tricky and dangerous. See the following for more info on how to handle carbon fiber. They seem like they know what they are doing.

It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
