Final update - The F40s are nice and all, but this thing got so much better

Update 3/19/2019 - Scrapped the Helio spring and installed a BrainFPV Radix. The Helio had a faulty gyro sensor and was putting out horrific oscillations about 1/2 throttle. Also installed the Nano Diversity which i have been very happy with never dropping below 85% lq. Ever. Now flights on 6s 1800mah are similar to previous 5s packs, with more power to spare. And swapped to HQ 7x3.5's for cleaner HD.
This is my endurance build. As of Jan 2018, been out 2150m (7000 ft) with plenty of battery and vrx to spare. With the pyro Drone 5s 2200mah I'm getting about 8-9 mins of flight time crusing around 55km/h (35mp/h). I have a max amps 5s 2800mah that has almost the same form factor and only weighs 16g more. Waiting to test when there is a break in the mountain storms. I'm calculating about 3 more minutes of crusing time. Still working out a little jello from the video but it's workable at this point with the GemFan 7042 and turning off EIS in the Gopro. Also tried a set of DYS XT7543 which BARELY fit, but sound mean and throw it around like a freestyle quad. Helio FC was easy to tune and handles beautifully. GPS-rescue is functional on a switch, and saved my quad when I lost video behind some trees. Never tested due to failsafe, thank the Crossfire gods. The horizontal antenna orientation is still giving me no less than 95% LQ @ 100mw. And the RR Edition Swift makes the mountain tops all the better. All in all I'm happy with the result, and I've been flying this more than my freestyle rigs. AUW 886 - 900 g
Update - With the MaxAmps, I just did a 15 min hover/light back and forth using ~2350mah. Slightly more than 80% of total capacity. Resting voltage was 3.65 per cell. A little lower than I like to finish on, but I have a good idea how awesome these batts are. But is 25% more flight worth 3x the price of a 2200mah?
Hi!
Nice build! Are you getting good gps fix with the module between the bat and the gopro?
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..
Read moreWith the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

I found that this frame had a lot of resonance and was unable to be tuned properly.
were you able to tune it well?
