Here is the new build up of my 7" Chameleon. After flying with the F40's for a few months with great success, I decided I wanted a little more stator. The F40's did well with a lighter LR build keeping efficent at hover and cruise, but calling for more throttle and power quickly gullped the amps, and the power curve would flatten out quickly. This also left little room for battery options. My findings were topping out with an 1800mah for a weight/fly time comprimise, getting almost 10 mins.

Fearing too much of a load on the 35a individual esc's and looking for a weight comprimise for the heavier motors, I opted for the Hobbywing 4in1 45a esc. Trading out sub 30g motors for 47g ones with the esc trade as well only gained me 18g to the dry weight. But the power increase is unbelievable! With a heavier 2200mah 6s GNB lipo and more aggressive HQ 7" 3 blades, bringing my AUW up just over 100g what it used to be, it hovers at 7 -7.5 amps - .5-1 less than before, cruising at 10 amps before was about 35mph, now 45mph, and the ground drops faster than my 5" on punch-outs. I have never seen 199a on my current meter!
This build I believe leaves little room for improvment. I wall have the 1w TBS vtx soon, and a buzzer maybe. All I feel like I have left to toy with is different batteries and capacities. Hovering at 22-23% throttle has be thinking I could carry a 2700mah comfotable and push a 15 min flight. Updates to come
Thanks for checking out my pride and joy
Sick build! Stl files on the crossfire mount? I like the use of diversity for LR
https://www.airbladeuav.com/products/airblade-crossfire-immortal-t-antenna-mount?variant=19657189326910
This is the mount I used, although I wish the end mount was available at the time I purchased. It says there is an stl available as well. The half of the immortal t that is down is getting a little beat up. But the diversity really makes a difference with LQ.
As soon as I saw this beast I knew what I would do with my "extra" Matek F722 and F55A. Except for that I directly copied your drivetrain (but still very similar - 7 inch Chameleon\1622 KV's on 6S\Those 7" HQ tri's). I've only bench tested the HyperLites on 6S and I can already see how smooth this setup is going to be (awaiting RC\VTX\FPV deliveries). A quad like this is pure luxury, but nonetheless a luxury I had to have.
This is awesome! Thank you. When you put it like that, it really is my luxury LR. Started with different parts ad kept hitting barriers, causing upgrades to top notch components. You will really like it when you fly it. If you want set up help, let me know. Alsom have a future build on a prototype frame coming with the 1322kv vresion of the big block. Stay tuned...
Ahh man that's great! I've built quite a few quads in the last year, but I suck at tuning. I may have to revisit that offer for setup help when I get to that point. I am just waiting on the RC\VTX right now, I hope to fly by this weekend. I will certainly keep my out for your build/review of the 1322K's.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

Wicked build! Did you ever find a good balance for 6S LiPo size with these motors? And what are your flight times like?
Yes! Right now I'm running a 2250mah 6s from xilo. that was getting me 8-10 min depending on how aggressive I am flying. slight change now though, as I am running the avenger 2806.5 1300kv. getting about the same flight times, but it is notably slower.
Thanks for checking it
