This was my first build and I think it turned out okay. The solder joints could have been better, but I'm new to soldering, so I'm happy with what I ended up with. For parts selection, I decided to use many of the parts that have been recommended by Joshua Bardwell on his site. Since I used so many JB parts, I also I also tried to color it appropriately. JB's videos have been very helpful to a noob such as myself.
I have flashed it with BF 4.1 and hope to complete the maiden flight as soon as the rain stops. I'm still waiting on the purple foxeer lollipop to finish it off completely. I will try to update the photos once I have that installed.
Update 12-06-19. I added a HGRLC GPS and Taco-RC antenna and Session mounts. This is the first GPS I have configured. Not much info online how to setup this particular one so it took me a while in Betaflight to get it working properly. Works great now. Nice to see speed and home direction in my OSD.
Hey, very nice Build!
I am looking forward to do almost the exact same build:D
Same Stack, same VTX, same receiver...
What kind of range do you get on this Quad?
I am very curious about that ;)
Thank you for that nice Build, I hope I get it as clean as you did:D
Thank you. I have not had the opportunity to test the full range. Most of the places I fly are surrounded by trees and lots of hills so the range tests aren't great. I have flown it about 500m away from me with two houses and a large group of trees between and still had good video and RSSI. I will let you know if I get a chance to test in a open area.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..
Read moreWith the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
