This build doesn't need much explanation, other than the fact that it performs very nicely I am very pleased with how it handles itself. I was a bit skeptical about the motors and their performance, having used cheap motors like the Samguk's in the past, and I was thoroughly impressed. Emax has produced great budget motors. The next path for this build for me would to add crossfire, as i have a tango 2 coming in the mail. This build is a great budget option for people who want a performance 4s freestyle quad, to use as either a basher or a backup or even a first build.
EDIT: I really love this quad. I've found a super smooth tune and a great rate setup. This quad has been able to give me up to 7 minute flight times on a 4s 1550mah pack, depending on how i fly. The s5 props are good, and are very efficient in the mid range. I've tried the s4's, but my tune flys better on the s5's. I'd recommend both props though. I've ordered a new bolt-down session mount and an antenna mount for the quad from brain 3d, along with a crossfire receiver for the tango2 i have coming, will probably be doing some more LR. I've also ordered some 2207 1800kv motors and some 6s 1300mah batteries to upgrade this quad. Only downside is ill have to retune it.
UPDATE AGAIN:
6s makes this quad a beast. I've been testing the s4's along with the johnnys and been liking them both. 1800kv is quite high, but I'm fairly certain my esc can handle it, if else I will just upgrade. I also flashed this esc with JESC in order to be able to use RPM filters. Keep in mind that i have a 4s tune aswell as a 6s tune (still working on this one, will post it when done), and this is just what i fly. The filter settings are the same for both.
UPDATE AGAIN:
I crashed this quad into the ocean and everything died, oh well.

Does anyone else leave any slack in their 5" build motor wires for later, if they want to swap in 6" or 7" arms on the same quad?

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
