Being someone who enjoys the 65mm class of quads the most how could I not build an Armattan Tadpole. Sadly this build got off to a bad start when one of the motors would only rotate one direction and was clearly rubbing. Fortunately, I had purchased the set from RDQ who shipped me a replacement. I chose to go with the Goku F7 and due to its unsymmetrical size I had no choice but to mount motor tabs out.

I have purchased custom milled micros from Armattan however I see why this is such a popular frame in various sizes. Its really a solid platform with great performance that is very easy to work on. I have never run a more notchy motor than these Mambas 1204! They also have the same shrill dry sound that I’ve noticed coming out of their old school 1408’s. They are great performers though and seem to be getting more efficient each flight so may need a bit of a break in.

I’m running 3s 450mah to 4s 500mah with stock rates on this F7 and it is butter smooth. The only thing that changes slightly is the hover point between 3s and 4s. I’m doing my best to not go crazy flying this little guy!

3/17 Update
After days and nights of fun flying I think I'll be swapping out vtx antenna for something smaller that I can get set at the proper angle before swapping out the Goku VTX. I’ll probably go with a Eachine Nano v2 or a TBS Nano Pro 32 as there is a an open field a block away from my place that I'm currently unable to get this micro to that I have no issues ripping up with my other micros.

3/22 Update
I never made any of the above mentioned modifications as I sold this quad yesterday after removing the crsf nano and replacing it with an xm+. I fully plan on building another soon!

Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
