First I had to grind the bracket for the Micro-Cam-Size (19x19mm) on the inside of the frame. The caddx cam was too small for the remaining Mini-Cam-Size and had to be filled with a mounting donut on the left and right side.
I installed the FC and the Caddx Unit with M2x25mm screws, the screws fit perfectly and without reworking.
I glued the buzzer, the condenser, the receiver and the antenna with 5 minute Epoxy.
And that's it!
So far I have only tried 3s batteries because I want to fly the Sparrow as a replacement for my FPV Egg in the garden, 4s batteries would be too much. I've tried Gaoneng 3s 650mah, Tattu R-Line 3s 750mah, and Tattu 3s 850mah.
I am on the road between 4:00 and 5:30 minutes, not flying slowly (the camera angle is sporty), but not punching as much due to the power. I think the R-Line is the best choice and gives the most fun!
The Sparrow is really full in the air and feels great, more like an agile 5-inch model!
Only the props are crappy and break even with small branches, I still try others!
The Sparrow weighs 184gr. without the battery.
With a Tattu R-Line 3s 750mah the Sparrow has a take-off weight of 248gr.
I think the Nebula Pro would have been a better choice for this build. The frame is designed for this size, the cam would protrude further out of the frame and the camera angle is more flexible.
Nice to hear, Jodie!!! Thank you so much! 😉
Unfortunately you don't have much choice at FC, have measured and tried a lot! The Jhemcu is easy to solder and fits perfect, but the first one burned out during a mini engine check in Betaflight! Luckily Banggood sent me a replacement, the second one is going well and without any problems!
100%😉
SO RAD!!!
I have always liked this frame, and now you have made it legit!! It was always too heavy for me as an analog 3", but packin that vista looks perfect. I see what you mean with the cam, it is pretty "nyutts-ta'-butts" with your vista/cap bank, that looks sketchy for crashing. If you imagine a world where quads never run into stuff it's 100% tho!
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..
Read moreWith the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

looks like a nice solid racer build!
