Banshee 500mm: Absolute Ripper!

Here is my latest wing design. This thing is an absolute ripper! I don't have a weight but it is a really light setup for LOS flying and gives nearly unlimited vertical with a ridiculous roll rate at higher speeds. Plus, a I made one with a Corvette livery!

Setup
I threw this thing in the sky with zero trim and it flew perfectly the first flight with only minor torque roll from the motor at higher rpms. I am running a flite test 1806 on a 450mah 4s and a 5 inch biblade which makes it sound absolutale ridiculous at full throttle. I ran FPV on my prototype version and it was a blast, though It was a bit nose heavy with all the gear. The final design allows for some extra space in the nose would one want to put FPV on it, but it will still be a bit of a tight fit even with a small battery.

Flight Characteristics
This thing is super controllable and docile at slow speeds and will easily cruise at 1/3 throttle, but is equally amazing at high speed performance. Even with full throws and big control surfaces I never feel out of control. I would totally recomend this build to beginners and experts alike. With proper setup absolutaly no trim is needed and almost no input is needed for an arrow straight takeoff. By far my favorite wing design so far. I have my throws set at 100% (using the closest holes to the servos) for LOS flying with my expos set around 60%. I recommend slightly lower rates with FPV.

Want One??
Build is really straightforward because it is mostly just flat pieces. The hardest part is the canopy piece with is still relativly simple. I have a folder here with the plans and CG calulations (4.5-5 inches from front). I am currently using Flite Test's new MakerFoam but any 5mm foam board works great. If you have any questions feel free to comment or message me on rotorbuilds.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
