Huge thanks to Drone Co Productions for generously uploading the .stl files to Thingiverse. The ducts were pretty challenging to print in the very soft Overture TPU I chose. I had to slow down all speed settings to 20mm/sec, increase the parts cooling fan speed, and use Cura's experimental Overhang Wall Angle feature to slow down even more for the parts of the ducts that were over 40deg. The other parts all printed easily with standard TPU settings at 40mm/sec. I love this shade of red so in the end it was worth the week of pulling my hair out trying to get the ducts to print flawlessly.
I also messed around with a few different 3D printed prop cutters to trim down the Nazgul 3040s. The cutter designed by Shendrones was a bit wobbly and I cut a few of the props at uneven lengths as a result. The other prop cutter I found was much easier to use and it cut all four props perfectly on the first try.
I've only test hovered it so far, I'll try to get some footage up if I ever find somewhere interesting to fly.
What a nice design 🤯
