Hyperlite FreeRange Freestyle Build - 6S
I loved the idea of an aluminium bottom plate so decided to do a build with this frame. The frame is beautifully designed and is lighter than most of my other builds.
Points to note
- While the Aikon AK32 Pro 50A ESC is a 20x20 ESC, it still takes up the same space as a 30x30 one. Mounting it on this frame felt like a great idea until I realized that the Capacitor (1000uF 35V) wouldn't fit in the frame with the vista in the way. Luckily, mounting the ESC 180 degrees in reverse allowed me to place the capacitor flush behind the nebula camera.
- I used the iFlight motor wire shields to protect the wires from prop strikes.
- The Crossfire RX, along with it's protective transparent heat shrink wrap mounted on top of the stack works well, but care must be taken to ensure that the RX does not press down on the BOOT button of the FC, for obvious reasons (took me a while to figure out why the FC kept rebooting in DFU mode).
- The standoff in the middle proved to be a tricky thing with the capacitor placement. Luckily, where there's a will, there's a way.
Clean!
thank you Jodie!!
