Happened into a few of these HBFPV DX40 v2 40mm frames a while back and have been stock piling components for them. I decided to use one for an Sharkbyte/HDZero digital build.

I've been stockpiling parts yet still decided to use the inexpensive DarwinFPV 1s-3s 15amp AIO which is Matek411 and I really like the construction of this board/boards which only has two UARTS but I plan on this being strictly a 3s build and 15amps are plenty for the Diatone 1103's that I could fit on this frame. So far it's all turned out to be a winning combo.

Multiple test flights and everything is staying nice and cool. Love the lipo mounting options this frame allows and everything fit in perfectly. This is the tightest ducted frame I've had the opportunity to work with. The only complicated process was getting the motor wires routed through the frame and soldered directly to the AIO. I am using a 35v cap as well as a 6s SMD Fettec spike absorber then running power into the VTX.

I have yet to range check the video and currently running 25mw but will soon push it to 200mw as I am having zero heat issues and with the VAS Micro switchblade the video is the best I have ever flown around my house.

I have the VTX on UART 1 and updated Betaflight from 4.2.5 to 4.2.11. I then had to update the firmware on the HDZero VRX and VTX.Once that was done I enabled MSP on UART 1 then ran set osd_displayport_device = MSP then set displayport_msp_serial = 0 in cli and was able to get Betaflight OSD into the VTX successfully.

Ive had no prop wash issues like I've run into with other whoop style frames and am running it on a props in configuration.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
