This is an old school open source frame from Clayton Harp (aka gearwolf) - Mini-Hexacopter that I decided to rescale and tweak to work with the FlyWoo GOKU HEX F745 16x16 STACK. I loved this frame because it was well designed and extremely functional (HobbyKing Thorax was based on this design). I have pics below showing the size difference from the HK Thorax, and a Massive Droner 3".
Took alot of work to get the original .stp files to be 3D printable, and I have included the link to the cleaned up files I created. There was considerable drilling using a dremel to get the motor mounts right, and I included pics of what it should look like. Even though I rescaled the hex for a 20x20 FC mount, I needed to print a template for a 20x20→16X16 mount and drill new holes since thats what the Goku stack uses (I included that .stl as well). Here are the scale settings I used in Cura for each of the drone parts since the orginal drone parts were far larger:
Body Parts
Scale X= 0.667
Scale Y= 0.667
Scale Z= 1.25 - (2.0 MM Thickness)
Arms
Scale X= 0.667
Scale Y=0.75
Scale Z= 0.472 - (3.0 MM Thickness)
I didn't want to use the Goku VTXs, since I like the MMX connectors better than the UFL ones (Stronger and easier to work with and wanted at least 600mw. This frame by design can easily accomidate the DJI or Caddx Digital HD Air Units as well as a Naked GoPro, BETAFPV SMO 4K, or Insta360 Go so its a great choice for doing HD Photography. I included a 3d printed Naked GoPro mount that will work with this drone...just need to drill 2 extra holes - see pic with mount.
There is plenty room to add an Apple AirTag if you want an extra method of recovering the drone in case it goes down. I also included the link to the 16x16 3d printable mount plate I used for the Crossfire Micro RX.
Stock PIDs that came from FlyWoo made this fly on rails with 0 jello, which is unbelievable for a 3d Printed frame. This one of the cleanest builds I ever did as you can see from the pics. All up weight was 260.4 grams with battery (850ma 4s Lipo), 166 grams without, so well in range if you wanted to get under 250 grams. I used the 3400kv motors, and on a 850ma 4s Lipo I could easily get 7 min flight time if you dont beat on it ;p, and using a Lithium Ion pack you could get alot more.
Well worth the work...this is an amazing drone, and if you make one you won't be disappointed. ;D
Long Range Tests:
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

Good job! So cool!
Thx bud...really enjoying this build...cant wait to get a naked Gopro or SMO 4K cam to make it really shine. 🤩
