Built to compare air unit to vista performance down my long range route, as well as 6" vs 7" cruising performance. I've been flying digital for over a year but never pushed more than a mile. I slapped on the new X2Airs and sent it.

This flight is on a Molicel P42A 6S1P. Barely breaking a sweat, but I wanted to take it easy on my first few flights on the pack. 2.4 mile max distance line of sight, 8.5 miles covered in 15 minutes of going up and down the shore. I landed at 3v and the pack bounced back to 3.3. I'm sure I can safely cruise down to 2.7v.

I'm going to work on getting power and gps telemetry overlaid again. I miss that from my analog videos.

I put on the long matchsticks for this one, but unfortunately had left on some low pitch tri-blades I was wanting to check out for more swiggity swooty type flying than pure long range. They still took me pretty far! 6km is just about as far as I've taken my analog quads, and I think I can easily push a little farther with the bi-blades back on.

Great build!
Where did you get that Gopro mount?
I need a mount for my Hero 8 on the Apex that will make room for larger battery and the one you use seems nice.

590g for the quad, 1.17kg AUW (w/ 6S1P 21700 pack and Hero10 as I fly it)

Thanks!! That gives me confidence to fly 6s on my 7" with the 1700 kv motors!

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
