I had not flown analog for a very long time, but I wanted to give Fractal75 a go with Happymodel Diamond F4 AIO. I might build a HDZero version of it too.
Would have been an easy build except my 1st Diamond AIO blew a FET on 1st power up (visible burn mark on 1 FET) and I had to order another one.
I tend to put BlueJay on all my whoops via esc-configurator.com page, but my new Diamond AIO would refuse to spin up 2 motors with BlueJay.
I tweaked the settings, but still 1 motor refused to spin properly. I swapped motors around, inspected the board is all kinds of ways with no luck.
To my amazement, instead of DOA board, I got all motors spinning and working fine by just going back to BLHeli_S.
Have to play some more with BlueJay, but I am actually very happy how this 21.55g 75mm build flies for now.
I get up to 4 minute flights with 300mAh 1S 75C HV DogCom LiPO and up to 6 minute flights with 450mAh 1S 80C HV EMAX LiPO.
Diamond AIO Flight Controller has to be flipped in order to fit the frame, so that the USB plug is on top.
ELRS wire antenna can be re-soldered from the other side of the FC antenna through hole.
Unfortunately OpenVTX antenna has to be bent around the FC edge as there is no through hole for that antenna.
This was my first QuickSilver quad. Smooth experience and using Fractal75 Profile templete made the set-up very easy. I am more used to BetaFlight and would have liked to see some more OSD elements in QuickSilver, but ELRS Link-Quality OSD element probably is about the only thing I am missing on such Analog quad.
Tried first with my ORCA Goggles with RapidFIRE and after flying HDZero, Walksnail, DJI, it felt almost as nostalgic and playing the original Duke Nukem 3D.
However, the experience was a bit better and livelier with HDZero Goggles + RapidFIRE. ORCA goggles will have to go :)

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..
Read moreWith the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
