I will be the first person with a production version of this frame. Thought hard about the parts to use.

If I had 5 words to describe Slim X 3.

02/18/19 - 1108 5000kv motors purchased, wires braided, and installed on the frame. They're much lighter than the 1407's and I have a feeling they will spin 3 inch props very well.

02/27/19 - Mamba stack has arrived. Do I use the SDR2 or the Runcam Robin? DECISONS MAAAAAN!

03/01/19 - Robin got the nod. Some important things to note if you use the Mamba stack on this frame. In order to make the ESC fit you have to use 10mm M2 screws with M2 Nylon nuts and the white washers that come with the Mamba standoffs. This combination gives you just enough height to clear the feet of the roll cage. The stock Mamba standoffs push the stack too high and you will not be able to install the roll cage around it. It will simply be too tall. I also used shorter than stock standoffs between the ESC and FC. This gave me just enough clearance to install both sides of the cage. The best method is to have the front "teeth" meet the baseplate and then work the rear "feet" into place. I have still not perfected it and it feels like a puzzle that you have to fight with until it magically slides into place. RX and VTX placement will have to be a little creative.

03/13/19 - I maidened this build with ZERO standoffs. Structural camera. i was too impatient to wait any longer. If I had 5 words to describe Slim X 3.

I have just the slightest bit of tuning to do to really lock it in but it goes exactly where I want at the speed I want when I tell it. The canopy I used is actually for the 2.5 model. Working on getting the 3 inch one.

This is the 4th installment to my popular "Wizard Killer" series, and is based on the popular Wizard X220HV 6S. As usual, the goal was to build a substantially better quad, yet come in below the retail price of the BNF kit. Here are some of the improvements: Higher quality EMAX ECO 2306 1700kv motors Foxeer's top-of-the-line Falkor mini camera Eachine 25mw-1000mw Leaf VTX with microphone Tools This..

The iFlight XL5 V3 is a fantastic freestyle frame for the price. It features chamfered edges on some very nice quality carbon fiber. My goal for this build was to use high quality components at a relatively low price. Not only that, but I managed to reduce the number of solder points to the bare minimum. I've never built such a plug-in-play quad! The flight controller has an integrated VTX and doesn't..
