Hi there!

as i was really annoyed with noise 2,5" - 3" drones and 4s lipos, i wanted to build something very different. A very small 2,5" drone using a 2s setup that still provides incredible thrust and can be easily freestyled. Using 2s, it is so silent that you can easily fly it at a park where there might be other people (without annoying them).

My name is Nic, and i design frames for fun and personal projects. Every project goes through 4 phases: Ideation, Design, Building, Flying & Improving. I document what i do on my Youtube channel eyefly tinkerings.

will follow soon!

The frame just weights 14,5g in total, so allows for a light-weight build.

Design files are available on Thingiverse - i'd love to see you build your own! https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4743636

I also designed a 3" version of this to build a sub250g freestyle quad including a naked GoPro. A seperate build will follow soon.

It's working very well for me. I do use 100% throttle here and there, but never for a longer period of time. Motors are not getting hot.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
