The first drone build I posted here, the Dark Phoenix was fun when I built it, but was hardly getting any use anymore because the tech was old and not so reliable, so I decided to rebuild it and bring it up to 6s and make it a long range, freestyle monster. Glad I did! ;p I dumped the F4 FC, ESCs, VTX, Motors, DSM Receiver, and the "under the motor" LEDs - just kept the Frame, Cam, and LED strip. Got rid of the old cam mount (POS anyway), and added GPS. Although it's still analog for now, I can easliy setup DJI, WalkSnail, or HDZero when the time comes - it has plenty of space.
Decided to match the color scheme of the XING motors and Frame Standoffs, and with all that blue it looks like Meth...so I called it Hiesenberg (From "Breaking Bad"). :D
It's winter here now, so I'm glad we had a nice day to do the maiden flight and post some footage....hit over 103 MPH on that run!
Who says you can't keep an old girl in the air... ;)

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
