Wanted a quad that was a joy to fly LOS as well as FPV, can reach 100MPH barrier (6S ready), and rugged. Every person who sees this baby in the air loves it, especially when I hammer it. The one headache I had was getting the DSM Satellite in the right location on the frame thats still protected and doesn't drop out - found that spot in the very front, but was a tight squeeze under the cam. The HGLRC F4 Flame is a great FC. I added the extra 5v BEC so that all the LEDs underneath and the headlights (10 LEDs) were all using it for power to ensure the FC 5v BEC was not over loaded and mess with the OSD. The taillight LEDs are all powered from the FC and programmed for a "Nightrider" look. This little guy can be flown at dusk LOS with no issues. I know i went a bit cheap with the Racerstar motors...but they are a great bang for the buck.
Maiden FPV Voyage:
is it me, or does the hellbender frame look really draggy with that huge body?
Hmm...I liked the Hellbender because it was like the RotorX Atom..just a bigger version...and that quad handles well. But for all out speed, I'm sure a thinner body would have less resistance because at full throttle the quad is basically vertical.
Thats why I beefed up the motors..2800KV hauls... ;)
nice!
