How far does ELRS 2.4ghz go?
This is a LR4 from Dave_C. Great frame and very nice carbon used by Reckon

I used a HAKRC, because it has a barometer. The problem is that the AIO is too long and doesn't fit if not rotated. When you rotate, it sticks out a little. And the power leads are now also sticking out. Not great...
This board has 2 UART and 1 soft serial. I should be able to add a cheap GPS. It's not yet so consider this as an almost finished build.

I went with the stock antenna and not the long one sold by Reckon. I also zip tied it and did not use the offered TPU print. I guess it's going to less wiggling.

I use an EP2 and sticked the antenna below the front right arm. I've not pushed it to a failsafe... But I can outright say that the range is good. My neighborhood is full of wifi, 5g, and other airwave noise... All quads irrespective of the rx protocol suffer here... I go about 500m away, behind trees and into a small depression of the terrain. The Vista goes into focus mode immediately... The little EP2 shows some signs of struggle with telemetry loses, but the link remains good

I'm using 3.5 inch props. It's funnier for light acro. For range hunting I would switch to 4 inches biprops.

With a 1100mAh GnB, I get about 10 minutes of mixed flying.

Next Steps?
1) rotate the FC 180 degrees to have the USB behind the camera. This will require me to re-solder the motors as the rear ones have longer cables
2) add the GPS and use softserial
3) try to find the sda/sdl pins and direct solder the compass
4) migrate to iNav

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
