Tried and true 5" freestyle CRSF on cheap analog.

In the process of replacing all my crap banggood parts with stuff from GetFPV and Rotorvillage. Made a couple purchasing mistakes but I'm happy I got something to fly with even if I am still using some cloned parts...

Problems with this build:

  • Had to use nylon standoffs for stack, couldn't find long enough m3 screws and frame didn't come with any.
  • Xilo Stax VTX is a 30 x 30 mm mount, I accidentally bought it thinking it was 20 x 20 and could go in the back. Oh well, nothing double sided tape can't fix.
  • Runcam phoenix 2 barely fits between metal standoffs, can go behind but cuts off image or just leave one standoff unscrewed and it fits. (big L)

Future plans for this build:

  • Replace FC/esc with AIO FC so I can fit vtx on main stack or replace rx/vtx with crossfire sixty9 (it mounts 20x20) which would make it a slamdeck build
  • Upgrade motors.
  • Get a smaller camera if having the frame standoff screw missing causes problems.
  • Neoprene feet between immortal-t antennae to stop it from spinning instead of poster tape, less messy.

great angle for.. hovering in place lol

I'm a freestyle pilot, not a racer. Having a zero degree cam angle stops your roll/yaw from mixing and makes a lot of tricks 1000% easier. Yeah, it means im not going mach 5 everywhere but my fly style is more about building momentum

cool - do you have any flight footage?

Not published, no. Just got the Runcam thumb, I'll post here when I get some footage!

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
