Frame - I love this frame. Tolerances are amazing. It looks so sexy as well. Had to get the matching motors.
Flight Controller - First time using BFF3, but being as I waited a while since its release I was able to search the internet and find all the tips and tricks for soldering this board. It was quite easy, just plan out all your soldering before going at it.
ESCS - These came highly recommended from people I talked to in the FPV Chat Slack. No problems yet, running dshot 600.
Motors - Had to get the matching motors for the frame. Heard great things about them as well in terms of efficiency.
Props - Cyclone is my go to, but wanted to try the RK5051 as well. Loving both.
FPV Gear - Cam is swift 2, great camera, not using the osd or mic though (might in future). The TBS Unify pro is great! Really easy setup, smart audio is cool, loving it. It gets really hot though, almost too hot to touch to change settings (only at 200mW). Had to grind down one edge of the antenna connector on the Unify to make it fit with the frame though. I bought a pair of triumphs for my last quad, so using the other on this one. I dont like the triumph on my goggles as much as I do on the quads.
RX - I'm using flysky fs-i6, so this was really the only option.
Batteries - I wanted to use the 1500 Turnigy batteries, but they are almost too long on the frame and I only have one strap holding them down right now. Going to stick with the 1300 size ones I have for now as they work great and have plenty of punch.
Will update with AUW soon. No GoPro at the moment.
Only issues I ran into were:
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..
Read moreWith the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
