So the Eachine Tyro has been one of my all time favorite frame kits to build and utilize! In my opinion they are EXTREMELY versatile! Racer to Ranger i feel it can handle it all!
This version i built with the initial intention of long range cruising in the mountains, and still intend to try it out, however, the 2200kv will serve most efficient in the mid range surfing category im sure! Maybe ill see how it performs on 5s!? These motors will definitely be peppy!
Weve stayed with the 40a Eachine 4in1 esc since it should serve plenty strong for our motors. I upgraded the stock FC to the Betaflight F4 v1 that i had sitting around. It supplies plenty of UARTs and options for what we need. I do wish it had a built in barometer, but not this time. GPS will still function without.
Well, low and behold, the betaflight FC had NO GYRO when configuringnon the bench somehow.... Im guessing it fried or sometiing. Well i have a CLRacing F4 that will suffice, so thats what we have now!
ExpressLRS has been serving extremely well as a control link, and having a fewmon hand, well use a Radiomaster RP3 "diversity" receiver. Although its not true receiver diversity, positioning my antennas the way i have will allow the control link to stay strong at alm times.... Not that thats wver a worry anyway! LoL Ive used a 3d printed Bardpole Antenna mount on the rear end to allow my ELRs T antenna to sit vertically. the antenna in front sots horizontally.
I have a few of the TeamBlackSheep M8.2 GPS modules so im going to slap one on the tail by repurposing the GPS/SMA mount i have leftover from a QAV-R build from a while back. It didnt fit perfectly, but it surely works! No i do not shield my GPS wiring at all. Through my experiences, shielding makes no difference. Eventually i want to ass the ViFly GPSMate to the build as well!
Rounding off the components, and what i feel is probably the star of the show, is the video transmitter. The AKK FX2 Dominator with 2W of output power! Lets GOOOoOoOo!! HaHa, thats definitely enough power to send a signal a couple of miles. I paired a TrueRC Matchstick antenna with it because they are tough and a great antenna! To capture video I dropped an OG Foxeer Toothless Micro camera. They are great for a clear picture, and even low light situations!
Overall this ahould be an efficient yet peppy ride! Primarily for mountain surfing, but capable to go for the long haul as well!
