Rekon 7 - 8 inch Cruiser
My second conversion of a Rekon 7 to 8 inch to test the new DJI O4 Pro :) It just remains a compact frame that has potential.
True to the motto: Rudie's leftover ramp, utilize FPV parts.
The normal frame is more suitable than the PRO version, even if you only want to convert to 7.5 inches.
I have also converted the DJI Goggle 3 to an external battery (Battery Mod)
My components:
Rekon 7" LR frame not PRO version
(converted to 8 inch with own sidebars supports)
SpeedyBee F405 V4+50A ESC
Emax Eco 2 2807 1700 Kv (4s) motors
HQ 7,5x4,6x3 (currently being tested) or 8x4x3 propeller
HGLRC M100 mini GPS
DJI O4 Pro
Flown with 18650 or 21700 Liion cells.
I will add technical data

General best tip:
Shield the cable from the GPS module. I previously had severe problems (indifferences) with the Caddx Vista/ o3 and rarely to hardly any GPS lock. I shielded the signal cable RX+TX AND the ground+5V cable and soldered each separately to ground. Since then I have very fast GPS lock with >20 satellites and the warm start is just top < 5s.
PID tuning:
7" preset from UAVTech, which I have refined and adapted for Betaflight 4.6. Flies well with it, but needs further refinement as my setup is from my Rekon 8 6s-version.
Conversion DJI Goggle 3 to external battery:
->
Goggle 3 external battery mod

Here's a new conversion for the DJI Goggle 3 to an external battery. This allows you to use a different headband.
And another modification: now the cable no longer bothers my face.
New position for antenna 2 + new foldable Gemfan 8041 ;) and GPS with MAG for testing.

At the moment I'm converting my Rekon 10 Pro to an 8 Inch by reverse engineering the arms and getting them cut. 10 inch is just too hard to tune and without a LOT of payload it's just not worth going to 10 inch. I love the folding propellers, i think i might give them a try.
